Movie Shushi

Ilona asked yesterday if weekends are more challenging than weekdays in terms of temptations and more relaxed eating. As I thought about my answer throughout the day, I realized there are times when weekdays are more difficult because of the temptations that can be found at the Central House such as the minibons and Mexican wedding cake cookies discussed this week. On the weekends, whatever temptations cross my path are my own responsibility. Some weekends go well while others are complete disasters.
Then there are days like today when all I wanted to do was eat, and there was nothing at the Central House nor anything at my house that appealed to me. I also could not identify exactly what it was that I wanted to eat....a sure sign that I was not hungry but that I was eating to relax, to calm down, to "treat" myself. Going to a movie seemed like the best alternative even though I knew I would be facing temptation at the concession stand.
Before leaving for the cinema, I checked my points for the day and found I had 12 remaining which means I could have had movie popcorn. Instead I had movie sushi. Yes, at the cinema I patronize most often, there is a lovely section known as the VIP salon. The menu is extensive and includes the usual popcorn and candy as well as paninis, pizza, desserts and sushi made on site by the sushi maker. Inside the salon, the pleather seats recline and have footrests; there is "room" service. Alcohol is served. Today's special was 2 apple martinis for the price of one. I was tempted, but I probably would have fallen asleep. Instead of popcorn for 8 points, I ordered sushi for 4. The movie, the new Jennifer Anniston/Gerad Butler girl movie, was not very good and not recommended. The ticket price is $8.00 USD. A bargain, incredibly comfortable and sushi is available.
The daily report:
B: Toast, pb, banana = 4
S: Chai latte venti = 5
L: Fish filet, corn & zucchini mixed together, green salad, avocado chunks, mixed fresh fruit = 11
S: Sushi (California roll) = 4
D: Tomato and goat cheese wrapped in butter lettuce = 3
Total: 27
Exercise: None
