A post that is NOT about work

It may not seem like it, but I do have a life outside of work. (There are also those who say my job really does not seem like work anyway, but that is a topic for another day.) What may come as a big surprise to some people, one of my outside interests is growing things. To call what I do "gardening" is an exaggeration, but I like to have fresh flowers and herbs. Shown here is my fabulous gerbera daisy. My small, but hardy, rosemary plant can also be seen.

if you'd like I can save you all the gardening magazines that Donna sends me.

(i wish there was a font that denotes sarcasm)

But I am glad to know you have a life outside of work. speaking of life, what is the closet airport to your house? I am contemplating Aidan's spring break, and I have decided I am going to buy tickets *that week* and we are going to go wherever we can find a deal. that is my big plan- i just still have to run it by James. :)

Sounds like a wonderful plan! Traveling here, however, may be a little complicated. First, Aidan will need a passport. He will also need a notarized letter signed by both parents explaining the travel arrangements, giving permission to travel with a relative. Even if he is traveling with one parent, he needs a notarized letter signed by both parents saying they agree, etc. Next, the is an international airport here in Merida. I would be shocked if it offered any kind of bargain flight. Your best choice is to keep your eye on Cancun offers. I will be happy to meet you there (4 hours away) and divide time between the beach and the city with a few archeological sites thrown in.) Finally, I have program evaluators here from March 7 - 12 and will not have a minue of free time. I will be in Iowa and California (long but happy story) April 7-18. But should the universe conspire to bring all of these elements together, mi casa would definitely be your casa.

thanks for the info- and we have the passport all ready to go...... But if you are really busy we may have to wait for another time and another bargain.

Love the photos. There is something satisfying about growing plants.
I remember getting our letter notarized for the trip Naphtali and I made to visit you oh sooo long ago.
