I had an epiphany this morning as I cruised my favorite blogs as to why my magazine addicition seems to have almost disappeared: I am getting my fix from blogs. To prove my point, my two loyal readers may have noticed that I added a blog roll to this site. My blog choices cover everything I love to read about in magazines...style, size, work, interior design/decorating, food, travel, self-improvement, and new obsessions such as gray hair. I love nothing more than thoughtful/insightful commentaries. And let us not ignore the added advantage of keeping up with family and friends through blogs.
I read recently where magazines sales have decreased dramatically. The author attributed the decline to the economy which is certainly a factor. I submit that blogs and on-line availability of magazines have also contributed the fewer sales.
Luckily for the economy, I continue to purchase magazines. Careful readers will note that I said my magazine addiction has "almost" disappeared...

I am so glad you put a blog roll on the side! I was just going to email you to ask you the site for "already pretty" but i guess i won't need to now. Also- I haven't updated the black dress yet, b/c I have done nothing with it. Aidan was sick and I had so much school sewing to do I never had time to finish it. Besides, I really need an opinion, so when my mom comes I am going to try it on and ask her opinion. Also, spring break would be March 26-April 2nd but we are looking to only go for about 4-5 nights b/c my parents are coming for a visit that weekend. I am going to hold out for a deal b/c we have some other trips to make this summer. But I am even considering an all-inclusive option with golf and childcare. Totally against all my ideals, but I just want to get out of MN for a few days and take Aidan to the ocean. So don't make plans based on us, I hope we could visit you there, but it really depends on what deals I can find. There are tons of trips to the dominican for <600/person, but is that wrong? to profit from the misfortune in Haiti? I am undecided. Phew, long comment.
Actually, those are great dates for me. Students are on spring break beginning March 26 or 27..whatever the Thursday afternoon is before Palm Sunday. We have a field trip on April 2 so I am free until the 1st. You are right in looking for an all-inclusive. What is hurting Haiti/Dominican Republic more than anything is that toursits are staying away. You would be helping the economy!
Your blogroll took me by surprise, but I'll have to set aside some time to take a look though it later. Browsing through magazines has pretty much been the limit of my reading lately, although I'm about 1/2 way through Shanghai Girls and have Paris Underwater in the mail from another library.
Gee, thanks for adding your blogs! Now even MORE for me to peruse!
I still have several magazine addictions. Martha is one of them.
I am SOOOOOO wanting something here besides snow! it could be our 8th! snow day tomorrow.
