Library update

I am so excited about the changes that are taking place in the library. With the help of the staff, we have cleared out stacks and stacks and stacks of books and papers. I took some prints and photos to be framed on Monday; they should be ready on Saturday. The room is being painted today. What I really want now is a new table. If you look at the photos posted last week, you will know understand. I moved the small round table downstairs into the living area where it looks nice and practical. That leaves two rectangular tables that are not the same size. You can't imagine how that upsets my sense of balance. But, of course, there is no money in the budget for a new library table. Last night, when I saw this ad in yet another Spanish design magazine, Casa y Campo, I decided I will worry about the money later. I want this table in the library. Well, one could throw in the chairs, too, and I would not complain, but new chairs will truly have to wait. I am meeting later this morning with a carpenter. I am thinking of the table in a yellow finish to lighten up all that ugly brown already in the library. Wish me luck that the price is within reason!

I think that your friend the carpenter has a burning desire to see the Mall of America, and the other amazing sites Minnesota has to offer. I could sure handle having something like that at my house. Also, they have really similar chairs at both IKEA and Peir 1, if you are on a budget. Maybe your students could rent a U-Haul and bring some down for you. Or don't you have a wicker-weaver somewhere in Mexico who could just whip a few up for you???
