DIY Color Analysis: The Losers

Conclusions: Pastels are out, out, out. I couldn't bring myself to post the yellow and lightest blue items. (Ilona told me this several years ago, but did I listen?) Browns of all shades are out. But I can wear colors...strong, deep, glorious colors. Now the question is, will I?

all right - my comments start at the bottom - with the first post so please read them in order.

But as I scanned through the posts the first time I will admit the the yellow scarf with the flag signals made me gasp! Find a good home for that one.

The first photos reinforce the idea that you do need color (of some sort) near your face.

I'm just impressed that you've done this and hope that you will start branching out with the jewel tones that we hear so much about in l'age.

Thanks very much for your comments.

In theory, I love that yellow scarf...one of two Hermes cotton ones bought in the Hermes shop on St. Bart's. The second one is brown. Good memories.

In fact, I have five silk Hermes scarves that I am ready to sell. I have two that I want to keep...for now. But that is another post.

Anyway, I took the photos sitting at a table in my room. It was totally dark with no other light when I finished which may account for some of the weird colors, and I used the flash. The joy of digital cameras is that I was able to mess around to find the right distance and angle. I was also able to see how I wrapped the items so the least number of chins were showing.

I do wonder how everything would look in the natural daylight, but even professional color analyses to not take place outside.

I had my haircut earlier in the day so I was pleased how it looked. I also only slapped on some lipstick halfway through the process. I would definitely "do" my makeup should I do this again.

Bottom line is I had fun, amused myself for hours, and am definitely already looking at stronger colors.

So - all the posted pictures have lipstick? It is/has been your go-to shade and it won't change? It looks flattering - doesn't fight with any of the colors...

Thank Barb for the lipstick color. It was in my b-day package. A Clinique product....will give you more details later. It is on my list to pick up one for my travel bag and one for my gym bag.
