If I can eliminate dairy and meat, why not Diet Coke?

I have one a day at right about this time: 12:45-1:15. I love it. I look forward to it. I enjoy every sip. And it is total crap, garbage and pure chemicals. I once went for about six months without a Diet Coke, but since then, I don't think I have even gone 6 days without one. When in France during the summer, I definitely did not have one every day, but I didn't go without either. Any recommendations for kicking this particular Coke habit?

Soda is a take it or leave it proposition for me. I can go for weeks, or months without, never miss it, and then one day nothing but a coke on ice (or a squirt, or whatever) will do. Have it, actually about half a bottle and the appeal is gone) and I'm done again til the next impulse strikes. I'm thinking as I write and I will say that these impulses are generally connected with exertion. It's a matter of slaking thirst after a hard day's work. Because it is an infrequent impulse I don't mind succumbing. It's habits that are hard to reset. Good luck.

i switched to carbonated H2O, like perrier or Lacroix. (they have big cases at Costco.) Now i am addicted to that, but it is sodium and calorie free.

My Diet Coke habit is a combination of liking both the carbonation and the caffeine....this is my one caffeine fix of the day. I looked for fizzy water yesterday while shopping but could only find club soda which has more sodium than my beloved DC. Good ideas though. Thanks.

WHEN I QUIT SMOKING CIGS, I TRIED TO AVOID THE PLACE OR TIME I CRAVED THEM MOST. LIKE AFTER DINNER I WALKED INSTEAD OF SITTING AROUND THINKING ABOUT A SMOKE. IN THE MORNING ON THE DECK I STARTED EATING MY BREAKFAST OUT THERE & NOT SITTING THERE SMOKING..LITTLE BATTLES DID WIN THE WAR FOR ME..GOOD LUCK..AG

Hmmmm....good idea, AG. You are right. I am usually sitting at my desk at that time, my attention is wandering as it is too early for lunch, but I am looking for a distraction from my computer. Thanks.

Try herbal tea. I make it every night in the frig and drink it with lunch.
